What Is ‘Bending Of Beams’?

Bending of beams:

A beam is a bar or a rod of a uniform cross-sectional area which may be rectangular or circular, of a homogeneous isotropic elastic material. The length of it is much greater than the breadth or depth, as a result, the shearing stresses over any section are negligibly small and the bending is pure or simple.
